Darkhorse Cargo currently produces two types of enclosed cargo trailers and vehicle/toy haulers. They’re suitable for ATVs, UTVs, snowmobiles, cars, and more. The DHW Series has a wedge-shaped nose, while the DHR Series has a round-top, 1990s-style aesthetic and a flat front with rounded edges. Both trailer lines come in 8- to 34-foot (2.4- to 10.4-meter) lengths with widths ranging from 5 to 8.5 ft (1.5 to 2.6 m).

Darkhorse Cargo DHW Combo Car Hauler Trailer

Trailers from Darkhorse Cargo are available with a long list of standard and optional features. They can have rear and front ramp doors, double doors, and/or a jump door on the side for easy exit from a car you’re hauling. Models with ramp doors can have heavy-duty, 5,000-pound (2,268-kilogram) D-rings to securely strap down cargo.

Darkhorse trailers feature a one-piece aluminum roof and thick plywood interior walls and flooring. The walls and/or flooring can be equipped with E-track for flexible, secure cargo stowage. Cabinets can be built into the nose of the trailer, and an extra 12 inches (305 millimeters) of interior height is available upon request.

Lighting & Doors

Durable, energy-efficient LEDs illuminate Darkhorse trailers’ ceiling lights, fender lamps, license plate lights, and 15-in. (381-mm)-tall taillights. Each trailer has either a four-way power connector or a seven-way connector for models with axles equipped with brakes. The company protects the trailers’ bumpers and tongue hitch with a rubberized coating similar to truck bed lining.

Tamper-proof hinge bolts add extra security to the doors of a Darkhorse trailer. Ramp doors are outfitted with a 16-inch (406-mm) top flap, which adds length to the deployed ramp to keep its grade manageable for incoming vehicles. The top flap is attached by a strong step hinge instead of a weak piano hinge. Ramp doors are assisted via torsion spring to make them easy to open and shut. As for other types of doors, 2500 Series models have solid metal holdbacks to latch them safely open.
