Sell With Industry-Leading Sales Platforms Truck Paper & MDTrader
For over 40 years, Sandhills has connected commercial truck and trailer buyers and sellers through Truck Paper. Following decades of success as the premier sales platform for new and used day cabs, sleepers, dump trucks, semi-trailers, and more, Truck Paper spawned the niche site, MDTrader.com, for buying and selling medium-duty vocational trucks and vans. Together, the platforms work hand in hand with Sandhills sales tools and services to serve as an integral part of successful truck sales.
Advertising In Truck Paper
Truck Paper magazine offers nine regional editions, allowing sellers to target specific geographic areas, and multiple ad sizes, including full-, half-, quarter-, and multi-page options, as well as single-asset photo listings. Assets advertised in print become featured listings on TruckPaper.com and in the Truck Paper app, ranking higher in search results for a worldwide audience of buyers browsing trucks and trailers.
Featured listings appear right after auction listings and are ranked by the corresponding type and size of print ad and their location in the magazine. Dealers who consistently run ads in Truck Paper magazine can list their entire inventories online as general listings at no additional cost. Sellers can also advertise through banner ads and email blasts to dramatically boost the visibility of their inventory.
Global Exposure
Exposure isn’t limited to the Truck Paper platform, as assets listed on Truck Paper automatically appear on other relevant Sandhills trade sites. For example, a forestry bucket truck advertised in Truck Paper will also appear on MDTrader.com, ForestryTrader.com, and TreeTrader.com.
Truck listings also appear internationally on MarketBook sites in Canada, Mexico, and other areas around the globe. That means the same forestry bucket truck posted on TruckPaper.com can also be found on MarketBook.ca and MarketBook.mx. Sandhills also has localized truck and trailer platforms in Australia, Europe, and the U.K.
Truck Auctions
Selling trucks and trailers on AuctionTime, Sandhills’ online-only auction platform, offers convenience and low fees. Sellers have no long-term commitments or contracts, can sell assets from where they sit, and—with weekly Wednesday auctions—can choose an auction date without an extended wait.
Assets are advertised in print in AuctionTime magazine for up to four weeks before their auction date and online at AuctionTime.com and TruckPaper.com, where they appear at the top of relevant search results. Sellers can also add Pre-AuctionTime, which gives assets a chance to sell at retail or wholesale ahead of the auction date.
“The real advantage of AuctionTime for truck and trailer sales is the buyer base behind it,” says Sales Manager Mitch Helman. “Dealers get the reach of Truck Paper, MDTrader, and all our other trade sites, which puts their inventory in front of both retail buyers, who may pay a premium for the right truck or trailer, and wholesale buyers, who are actively buying for their own inventory. When you bring retail and wholesale demand together, you create more competition—and that’s what drives the best results for the seller.”
MDTrader
Vocational truck buyers and sellers can also benefit from MDTrader.com, a niche site with a mobile app dedicated to medium-duty trucks, vans, and components. As an online-only resource, MDTrader.com lets sellers directly purchase featured listings and premium featured listings on the website. Featured listings are available at a weekly rate and can be purchased in packages of one, five, 10, or 20 listings.
Premium featured listings appear at the top of the page, above even AuctionTime and Equipmentfacts auction listings, with a color border that stands out. They are available in eight-week runs. Premium featured listings also rank the highest in their categories on TruckPaper.com, increasing the value of the investment.
The Tools To Succeed
Sellers have access to more than just a place to list inventory; they have opportunities to take advantage of a range of tools and services from the platform.
“Successful dealers don’t just list on MDTrader, they put the entire platform to work,” says Sales Manager Whitney Musiel. “From VIP+, our pricing tool, to custom-hosted websites, they’re maximizing visibility, reaching more buyers, and creating more opportunities to move more work trucks.”
